Facilities

Q — Can family and friends visit at any time?

A — Family and friends should be able to visit at any time during normal visiting hours. If families need to visit after hours, there is a call system located at the front entrance that will alert the nursing staff and calling ahead is often helpful in preparing for visits beyond the normal visiting hours.

 

Q — Can residents make choices about their daily routine?

A — The staff will encourage and assist residents in making choices that best suit their needs and likes. Residents will have opportunities to meet new people and discover activities of interest along with dining choices.

 

Q — Do you have an on-site hair salon?

A — We have a hair salon located on the first floor that offers a selection of services.

 

Q — Do you have religious services on the premises?

A — We have a chapel and different ministers from various Christian denominations come in to provide religious services once a week. We also have a part-time Chaplain on staff.

 

Q — Do I need an appointment to come and tour the facility?

A — Families can come in either scheduled or not. They need to know that if they elect to come in without an appointment and visit during off hours, the staff can speak about the facility environment and will have no knowledge of rates, availability, or the admission process.

 

Medical

Q — What rehabilitation services do you provide?

A — Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy. The Rehabilitation team is certified in the LSVT Parkinson’s Big and Loud program.

 

Q — Will my stay be covered by insurance?

A — Insurance plans can differ, and the admission office will discuss the specifics of your particular insurance plan and cost.

 

Q — What is the closest hospital/emergency clinic?

A — We are close to Rhode Island Hospital, Miriam Hospital, and have relationships with Roger Williams Hospital, Fatima Hospital, VA Hospital, and Memorial Hospital.

 

Q — What qualifies someone for a level of care in a nursing home?

A — The level of care is determined by the facilities interdisciplinary teams though an assessment process based on the individuals daily needs. Residents and their families are involved in these decisions.

 

Q — Is transportation available?

A — Yes, the facility will set transportation up for resident’s medical appointments.

 

Dining

Q — What is the meal plan at Linn Health & Rehabilitation?

A — The facilities dietary team meets with each resident to plan an individualized balanced diet, taking into consideration each resident’s likes and dislikes and dietary needs. Our daily meals are set to offer two main choices. However, alternate choices are always available.

 

Q — Can special diets be accommodated?

A — Yes, Linn Health & Rehabilitation is able to accommodate most dietary restrictions in coordination with the facilities Dietician.

 

Q — Are menus available?

A — A menu is published weekly. A menu is delivered to each resident. The menu is posted on each of the residential floors. See more about Dining at Linn Health & Rehabilitation.

 

Q — Where do residents eat their meals?

A — Residents can eat meals in their own rooms or with others in the dining rooms which are located on both the second and third floors across from the elevators.

 

Q — Are visitors allowed for meals?

A — Yes, visitors are allowed for meals. There is no limitation on frequency, although there is a charge for each guest meal. Guest’s meals can be purchased in the office.

 

Q — Can residents make arrangements for special celebrations or private use of dining facilities?

A — Yes, our Linn dining room can be reserved for celebrations and private get-togethers.

 

Activities

Q — How many activities do you have per day?

A — The activity department schedules a variety of activities throughout the day and evening for residents to enjoy at their leisure. For a calendar of residents’ activities, visit the Activities at Linn Health & Rehabilitation.

 

Q — Do you have an outdoor area for resident use, and do you help the resident get outdoors?

A — The facility has outdoor sitting areas for residents to sit and enjoy the fresh air during the nice weather seasons.  Residents in need of assistance to access the outdoors will be helped by the facilities staff. The activities staff organizes a number of cookouts and outdoor activities for the residents.
